We are currently seeking a Cooler/Freezer Order Picker at our Burnaby location, part of our Purity Life Grocery division. 

ABOUT THE JOB
This is a vital role in our operations; the Order Pickers fulfill customer orders and prepare them for shipping. This role works in our cooler and/or freezer storage areas, operates machinery, and palletizes the order as it is being picked. 

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Pick products as indicated on individual pick lists.
• Place products on pallet such that they are stable, secure, and well-balanced.
• Be familiar with warehouse layout, including directional access and location codes.
• Meet and exceed expectations related to accuracy and productivity.
• Adhere to safety standards, both in equipment use and in picking procedures.
• Learn and follow steps to choose correct pallet for different customers.
• Follow procedures when product is out-of-stock.
• Place pallets in correct staging area (for QC to check or for shipping).
• As directed, wrap pallets and prepare for shipping.
• Complete paperwork as required (pallet tags, tracking paperwork, etc.)
• Learn and follow spill clean-up procedures.
• Participate in inventory as required.
• Assist with general warehouse clean-up/housekeeping.
• Follow Food Safety and GDP guidelines.

QUALIFICATIONS + EXPECTATIONS:

• Must have previous warehouse picking experience, including cooler AND freezer experience.
• Must be comfortable picking at elevated levels.
• High level of physical ability and endurance.
• Can lift up to 50lbs.
• Repeated lifting, bending, twisting, standing, reaching.
• Attention to detail and focus on accuracy.
• Ability to work autonomously; be self-directed and complete work independently.
• Reading comprehension of alphanumeric codes.
• Food Safety trained.
• Machine operation experience preferred (ride-on pallet mover)
• Knowledge of warehouse (distribution) operations and flow.

COMPENSATION + WORKING CONDITIONS:
This is a full-time and permanent position (40 hours/week) with options for overtime as required. The schedule will include one weekend shift (9am-5pm) and four afternoon shifts during the week (3-11pm). It could be Sunday to Thursday or Tuesday to Saturday.
The hourly rate is $24.43/hour, with a $1/hour premium for hours worked after 9pm. We have extended benefits available after 3 months.
